CADS has worked with numerous creatives over the years, establishing a well-known reputation for providing affordable space for hire across Sheffield. We provide studios at subsidised rates to give start up businesses, struggling artists, new projects, the help they need to get started and thrive. We are also working tirelessly to bring a disused 1920s cinema back in to life to become a multi functional community arts venue.
Our self-funded SpaceCADets program provides 6 weeks of free studio space for developing projects and ideas, that do not have the means to progress without the space and guidance from CADS. We have also successful raised more than £50,000 via Crowdfunding and through other funding bodies, in order to improve the facilities at The Abbeydale Picturehouse and take underway the necessary upgrades to become a fully licenced venue, which will be able to deliver a more diverse program and improve community engagement.
