Domestic abuse is not limited to any one section of society, race, religion, age, gender, ability, ethnic or economic group and we will help anyone who has experienced or is experiencing domestic abuse.
Our beneficiaries are the victims of domestic abuse living in West or Mid Suffolk but women can come to the Refuge from any part of the UK. We also provide services and support to children, young and vulnerable people as well as male victims of domestic abuse.
Our Helpline is open to anyone, not just residents of West or Mid Suffolk and, our Outreach service is available to anyone via the Helpline and referrals from other agencies. If a person needs or wants more intensive support but does not live in Mid or West Suffolk, we will support them to find appropriate services. No charges are made for any of our Outreach services.
Bury St Edmunds Women’s Aid Centre is the leading provider of domestic abuse support services in Mid and West Suffolk. The organisation manages the only women’s Refuge and only domestic abuse Outreach Centres in West Suffolk.
