Geographical remit:
Local

Objectives

  • We work with local people. Many volunteers drop in but for one project we also take referrals from local health charities.
  • We help people learn new skills informally eg growing food, beekeeping, gardening.
  • We promote food growing and also share produce amongst volunteers.
  • The garden is in a very urban area with pockets of deprivation. Our remit is to put local food on the map for local people.

Activities

We run a wide range of activities, including weekly drop-in gardening sessions, food-growing sessions, training courses, gardening for pre-schoolers & parents, educational events and workshops, open days, led walks and group visits.

We work with local partners to extend our outreach and ensure the garden is accessible to all. We are looking to become a 'Garden of Sanctuary' in 2020, and are also aiming to incorporate as a charity.
