Build It International is an international development NGO that supports communities and individuals in Zambia, through its building skills training programme.
The charity was registered in 2006 in response to the severe lack of jobs and basic facilities for rural and urban communities in Zambia. To date the charity has trained over 800 men and women in building skills and completed 43 building projects that will build brighter futures for over quarter of a million people. A new strategy sets out additional pathways for skills training to increase the number of trainees to over 400 per annum by 2021. We also continue to construct community projects that will transform the lives of 150,000 people by 2021.
At present turnover is £1.3 million made up of a mixture of grants from trusts, individual donations and corporate partnerships. Our intention is to steadily grow to at least £2 million by 2021.
Build It International trains young men and women across Zambia in building skills. It offers them practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification. Build It also provides additional skills training to help prepare and link their trainees to work.
It delivers the skills training programmes at it's bespoke Centre for Excellence near Lusaka as well as by construction of community schools and health clinics.
