With the aid of smart technology, BuddyHub has created a novel way to combat one of the biggest social issues of our age by creating new friendships for older people to help them live well as they age particularly by combating and preventing loneliness and isolation.
BuddyyHub carefully matches and introduces ‘Senior’ members, aged 50+, with up to three ‘Buddy’ volunteers in their community. Interests, passions, situation and personality are all considered when creating these new social circles that we call a ‘Friendship Wheel’.
Our fun and flexible approach is also attractive to volunteers: the three Buddies in the ‘Friendship Wheel’ share flexibly arranged visits with their Senior either one-to-one or as a group reducing the time commitment and lowering dependency barriers for volunteer Buddies.
