Objectives

Our synagogue would like to form a social club for elderly members of our community. At present the welfare work of the community is looking after the elders in terms of visiting, taking them shopping and being there for them in times of illness. We would like to form a social club for them to meet, hopefully once a week, and provide activities such as Creative Writing, talks from synagogue members who have interesting professions, such as a Television Set Designer and nutritionist; an Occupational Therapist and Dietician from a local hospital; talks from our Rabbis around the times of festivals, going on outings and a good supply of board games.

Activities

This project is very new and is at the "setting up" stage. Our first task is to have funding to get going. The first objective would be to train volunteers to complete Funding Application Forms and how to use the best phraseology to attract funders.
