Bromley Brighter Beginnings works to relieve poverty for children living in the London Borough of Bromley, by providing their parents and caregivers with essential items to help them look after those children. No child should go without basics such as a bed to sleep in. Childhood poverty affects a child's mental and physical health, and their educational achievement.
We provide children's beds and bedding, school uniform, and pre-loved items such as cots and buggies. Our newborn packs contain all the toiletries and clothes needed to get a baby through the first couple of weeks. In collaboration with another local charity, we also provide kitchen essentials such as fridges to increase a child's chances of having a healthy diet. As far as we can, we also provide families with information so they can seek other support when needed.
