Objectives

We focus on providing grants for research and training to eliminate avoidable blindness, especially in low income countries where the need is greatest. We specialise in providing seed funding for projects that have the potential to lead to improved treatments for, and better ways of preventing, the diseases that cause blindness. Our projects empower local professionals and communities in low income countries to undertake preventative sight saving programmes - this innovative work changes lives, and relieves communities of the burden that blindness places upon them, reducing poverty and boosting economic growth.  We are a very small charity, with big ambitions.

Activities

We fund fellowships, research projects and mentoring projects, and support students on a one-year MSc course at the International Centre for Eye Health in London.
