Objectives

BANC was set up as a charity in 1979 to provide an independent, critical voice to influence thinking in the nature conservation movement in Britain.  It has a membership of practitioners and professionals from across the environmental sector, and serves them through online articles, debates and meetings.

Activities

BANC produces the independent online journal ECOS, which takes a critical look at the nature conservation movement in Britain. Bringing together influential writers and practitioners from across the sector, ECOS has built a reputation for challenging, innovative and accessible commentary on the scientific, social, political and cultural aspects of nature in Britain.
