Objectives

The Britain-Nepal Charitable Trust (BNCT) was set up in early 2024 as the charitable arm of the Britain-Nepal Society (BNS).  It makes grants to British NGOs working in Nepal to improve the lot of those in need by reasons of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, emergency or disaster.  NGOs eligible for grants will be involved in one or more of the following activities:

1.       Advancing education by means of construction, training or resourcing projects.  

2.       Improving healthcare and health awareness through the provision of materials, medicines and skills and by the delivery of health education programmes.  

3.       Advancing community development through community education and social welfare programmes including the provision of recreational facilities and other public amenities such as bridges or water projects.  

4.       Promoting equality and diversity through social welfare and education programmes.  

5.       Promoting conservation and protection of the environment.
