Bristol Food Network C.I.C. supports, informs and connects individuals, community projects, organisations and businesses that share a vision to transform Bristol into a sustainable food city.
BFN was set up as a voluntary organisation in 2009, and converted to a CIC in 2014 in order to take on running the Bristol Food Connections Festival (which has since gone on to become an independent CIC). We run an annual opening of Community Gardens under the Get Growing Garden Trail. We have helped set up Community Fridges. We have run campaigns such as the Bristol Independents promotion, and engagement activities such as city roundtables & conferences. Our recent work has focused on coordinating Bristol’s bids to become first a Silver and subsequently a Gold Sustainable Food City – making Bristol only the second city in the country to achieve this status.
