Bristol Co-operative Gym is the first co-operatively run gym in the UK. We aim to create a supportive, open exercise space where our members can feel comfortable, in our own clothes, with our own music, to progress in our way.
Aims
Objectives
Bristol Co-operative Gym builds healthy communities through collective action. We provide strength training and related health and fitness activities for people who are not well served by the mainstream fitness industry.
We are a local not for profit community business currently primarily serving the Easton and Lawrence Hill wards of Bristol. As the UK’s only cooperatively run gym, we support local people to maintain healthy, active lifestyles through self-determination.
Our gym provides a range of employment, volunteering and training opportunities for local people and we are committed to diversifying involvement in the health and fitness industry.
