Objectives

Brilliant Minds Open Talent CIC is a social enterprise in the employability sector.  Our mission is to create rewarding job opportunities within the IT industry for neurodiverse people (those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and other neurological conditions).

This will benefit many thousands of neurodiverse people in the UK who have great abilities but are unable to seek work in the conventional way.

  • We will endeavour to significantly increase the number of neurodiverse people in rewarding paid work.
  • Employers will be able to benefit from this hidden talent pool to help them deliver value.
  • Employability partners (charities, other social enterprises and businesses) will be able to scale their organisations via our end-to-end service model built around a new open talent platform.

Activities

We will connect existing employability organisations in the UK, progressive and inclusive employers and neurodiverse jobseekers on a single open talent platform focused initially on IT-related roles, the gig economy and home-working.

Our platform will be built to provide a safe, secure and supportive method for neurodiverse talent to advertise their abilities to attract leading employers who are looking for these skills.  By leveraging the gig economy and home-working by default we will bring work opportunities to the neurodiverse jobseeker and in a flexible way that meets their specific needs, allowing them to choose when they work, how they work and how much time they are able to offer.

Equally, employers will have a flexible way to engage with neurodiverse talent, either for long-term freelance roles, project work/gigs or to find specialist on-demand skills when required.  Through our employability partners we will offer diversity and inclusion support and job coaching to our registered employers.

A proportion of the revenue received from employers for freelance work will be re-invested in the support services to help neurodiverse jobseekers find rewarding employment.

Our platform will be free for jobseekers to self-registration or for employability partners to register on their behalf.  We will partner with the top IT service providers to offer training and development in key skills such as coding, testing, artificial intelligence, automation, cyber security and others.

As our platform grows we wish to expand our service to include other industries, other disabilities and international work opportunities, all via the open talent model.
