Objectives

We provide emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope or at risk of suicide.  We deliver the Samaritans' vision by making it our mission to always be there for our callers and provide the best support possible.

Activities

Through telephone, email, text and face-to-face support, we support people who are in emotional distress by listening and talking.  We are a confidential, non-judgemental service.  We do not provide advice, rather we encourage our callers to share their feelings and emotions and, by so doing, offer them a no-pressure, safe space that might not be available to them anywhere else.  We are available 24 hours a day.  Samaritans' vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
