Objectives

Founded in 2015, Bridges for Enterprise (BfE) is a non-profit organisation home to a global community of purpose-driven professionals and students that provide free advisory services to social innovators in the developing world. We do this by operating a multi-stage, virtual, 6-8 month Incubation Programme with two cohorts of startups per year.

Activities

Through our Incubation Programme, we support early-stage social enterprises (both for-profit and non-profit) operating in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Startups must have existing revenue and a clear mission to create impact for their beneficiaries. For example, they may address issues of poverty, unemployment, or environmental sustainability. Importantly, we ask for competence in English, because all our partners use this as a common language.

Programming provided during our Incubation Programme is bespoke, holistic in nature and designed to position startups for long-term financial sustainability. Once accepted, BfE startups will undergo two successive 3-4 month engagements in consulting and finance advisory, with optional legal and technical advisory services available for startups upon request. Each engagement is led by dedicated student teams and professional mentors based in one of our city chapters.
