Objectives

The Bridge Project has been working in Tadcaster and the surrounding villages for 20 years and is a faith-based organisation working with children, families and young people. We support children, young people and their families of all faith backgrounds to make choices which positively affect their opportunities, aspirations and mental health. We do this through proviiding opportunities to support people to fulfil their full potential: physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Activities

We are inspired by our Christian faith to support vulnerable and disadvantaged families in Tadcaster and we do this through drop-in youth clubs, holiday clubs, primary age clubs, self-esteem courses for young people, mentoring, an accredited volunteer scheme and schools work including assemblies, RE and PHSE lessons. We have several faith -based projects including our "Takeaway Church" project for families who are new to faith, "Pizza and Prayer" for young people and "Open The book" in local schools.

Over the previous year we‘ve experienced an increase in running and in demand for our services. Many families are turning to us for support through rising food and fuel bills, and we are providing a warm, welcoming and safe space for them.
