Objectives

The Bridge – Homelessness to Hope charity has been helping homeless people to turn their lives around since 2009. Based on Melton Street in Leicester, the charity provides around 100 early breakfast servings for rough sleepers per week and almost 10,000 meals per year to the homeless and vulnerable. The centre offers a range of specialist support services including mentoring, benefit, job seekers and housing advice, and mental & physical health sessions.

  • To provide a Community place that hosts a range of activities and services used by lots of different people. The range of services reflect local need, and may be delivered by local people, other organisations, or public agencies.
  • To be sustainable and effective for many years ahead. 
  • To transform an underused building into thriving commercial and social hub of activity.
  • To provide a base for local jobs and services, helping to keep economic activity local and assist in making neighborhoods more resilient & community minded.

Activities

The Bridge to Hope CIC started in 2017 in order to provide some financial sustainability for the Leicester charity; The Bridge Homelessness to Hope on Melton St Leicester. In just under 2 years of being operational the CIC has a fleet of 2 vehicles, a regular pitch & event booking for both vehicles. Our main pitch being Victoria Park by Leicester University, where a regular local trade has been built up.
