Objectives

Supporting refugees into work, training and mentoring opportunities through selling artisan organic bread across London’s best markets.

(you can find impact stories and videos on our website)

Breadwinners is a not-for-profit social enterprise. We provide refugees with their first UK jobs, training and mentoring, across our London farmers’ market stalls. Our Breadwinners have a safe, supportive place to work where they can build confidence, learn transferable skills and get the experience they need to progress into their dream job or set up their own business.

Activities

Our programmes

Breadwinners – Employing refugees who are struggling to start work in the UK, supporting them with training, references, networks and entrepreneurship opportunities to independently sustain themselves and progress.

Risers – Providing early intervention support for young people seeking asylum (aged 16-24) to build transferable skills, grow their networks, gain UK work experience, and progress through
mentoring so they’re better prepared to gain employment when they receive UK refugee status.

“ I tried to find a job but they refused me. Breadwinners accepted me and supported me. I learned from Breadwinners how I can start a business again!”
AHMED – Ex Breadwinner, Primrose Hill Market. Now a food entrepreneur
