Objectives

Raising funds to establish maintain and manage a rehabilitation and recovery centre to improve the lives of adults 17 years and over living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

The impact of an ABI can vary dramatically from person to person, therefore the type of benefit and amount of benefit received with be dependent on individual circumstances and consequences.

Ultimately using the centre will;

  • Reduce isolation
  • Improve mental health and physical fitness
  • Empower and enable
  • Increase confidence, self-esteem, social skills
  • Regain identity
  • Advance education, health and wellbeing
  • Volunteer and employment

Activities

  • The firstĀ Brainfartz centre will be in Yorkshire.
  • A huge part of an individual's recovery is to restore and maintain their physical and psychological wellbeing. The environment and all the activities at the Brainfartz centre will be specifically designed with this in mind.
  • The centre will be a modern and well equipped facility, offering access to quality rehabilitation, recovery, education and a diverse range of opportunities in a safe, understanding and friendly environment specific to the needs of those affected by an ABI.
  • The focus will be on enablement to promote greater independence.
