The Sea Cadets has existed for over 160 years and is built on the ethos and standards of the Royal Navy. Cadets can participate and gain qualifications in activities, from sailing to flying and from engineering to catering.
Bournemouth Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets is an independent charity (No.301756) and uniformed youth organisation based at T.S. Phoebe near Kings Park. With an immediate population area including that ranked 226 out of 32,844 small-areas in England, where 1 is the most deprived. This means that Sea Cadets is based amongst the 1% most deprived small areas in the country. The organisation provides young people, aged 10-18, with an exciting alternative to other activities in the local community and wider Bournemouth area.
We aim to empower young people to have integrity in their choices, enabling them to confidently take part in their communities and realise their future opportunities and potential.
Cadets work hard and play hard, as well as enjoying training in drill/ceremonial, water sports, seamanship, adventurous training at sea and on land ; they can take national awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh or even attain BTEC or othet accredited qualifications in navigation, communication and management including.
Cadets also take part in a wide variety of community engagement and enrichment activities. Their cadet experience is enhanced by regularly hosting other local care goups or supporting other charities at local fetes, sporting events or on the water.
