Objectives

Bonitas Multi Academy Trust in Bracknell would love to attract the skills and experience of people from local businesses and our community as volunteers. The Bonitas Trust comprises of Ranelagh Church of England secondary school and Jennett’s Park Church of England primary school covering the education of over 1500 children from the ages of 2-19. We operate a governance structure that includes a Local Governing Board at each school (governors) and a Bonitas Trust Board (trustees).

This is a hugely exciting time to be a volunteer within the Bonitas trust either as a governor or trustee. We are a fledgling trust and are looking to establish our Trust and develop its scope. Both schools are continuing to strive for improved educational delivery for all pupils. We are continuing to work within the current challenges of Covid 19 and have also recently introduced a focus on Mental Health and Wellbeing for pupils and staff. Trustees are unpaid but in return they gain skills which they may not otherwise acquire, as well as gaining a wider perspective on a key part of their community. Most importantly, these volunteers get the satisfaction of knowing they are helping to make a difference in the education of the children who attend the schools.

Activities

Trustees are members of the Trust board and oversee the strategic direction of the trust. Generally, trustees are not specialists in education with much of the role about exercising common sense and working together in the best interests of the children. These roles work with the Headteachers and CEO on a diverse range of matters – from deciding what kind of trust and school we want to be, creating school development plans and thinking about how we want it to get there, to setting school policies and ensuring money is spent on the right things.
