Objectives

Bolghen Tree Nursery CIC aims to assist in the fight against the climate emergency by growing native broadleaf trees from locally collected seed. Bolghen also offers meaningful volunteering opportunities to the community and vulnerable groups in the area. Teaching people how to collect, grow and care for seed/seedlings whilst submerging themselves in nature and the healing properties it provides.

Activities

Bolghen runs a variety of different volunteering sessions depending on the time of year. In Autumn we collect seed and take it back to the nursery to process. We plant seeds, we maintain and construct items needed in the nursery to protect the seedlings. We clear land, we create no- dig beds. We prune and care for the trees. There are always plenty of activities with for all skill sets and always opportunities to learn new skills in this vital sector.
