Our purpose is to end destitution among people who have sought sanctuary in the UK. We work with people who have claimed asylum but who have then been made homeless after receiving a positive or negative decision on their asylum claim. We provide shared accommodation and specialist support so that people can move forward positively by reengaging with the asylum system, or by finding longer term accommodation, education and employment.
We provide stable accommodation mainly through shared houses, a small number of properties for families and sometimes through hosting placements with local families. Before Covid, we also ran a nigh shelter in partnership with over 300 volunteers. As well as accommodation, we provide tailored 1:1 support for people who have been made homeless through the asylum process. We provide practical help through a weekly allowance for those who aren't allowed to work or claim benefits and we also offer a range of wellbeing opportunities, We support people to access medical and legal services and work in close partnership with other organisations around the city to ensure people are welcomed and supported so that they can experience life in all its fullness.
