Blue Smile is a Cambridgeshire charity dedicated to enhancing the emotional wellbeing, mental health and resilience of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people, aged 3 to 13 in local schools, who have poor mental health or emotional problems. Our goal is to enable those children to lead happier lives and fulfil their potential.
We are actively removing barriers to support for vulnerable children because we know that disadvantage means a greater likelihood of poor mental health. While many of the children we support may be at a point of crisis, we empower school communities to identify children before they reach a crisis, and deliver early intervention, to create a sustainable environment for long-term strong mental health.
We are proud that 94% of parents and 88% of teachers say that the child’s emotional wellbeing improves because of Blue Smile’s support
Blue Smile aim to intervene early to improve children's mental health, through arts-based support and therapy, so that they are healthier during childhood, and freed to engage with learning, both academically and socially. This is achieved through weekly, term-time,1-2-1 therapy in 9 Cambridgeshire 'Partner Schools', as well as providing Outreach services to a further 15-20 local primary schools.
