Bermondsey Street Runners delivers impactful work to the local residents of South London. Irrespective of gender, backgrounds, ethnicities, sexuality or any other demographics, Bermondsey Street Runners provides a place where movement and social connection are combined to improve all of our wellbeing.
We currently help the community through offering free run and yoga sessions, all followed by a chance to unwind and chat over a coffee with other members of the community. As we progress, we are rolling this out and expanding to include; sessions for those with physical challenges, sessions for families with young children, sessions for those who want to get into running, after school clubs etc.
Our services matter because they address key challenges faced by our community, such as social isolation, mental health issues, and limited access to affordable fitness activities. By providing free and inclusive wellness programs, Bermondsey Street Runners helps to improve the physical and mental health of our participants, builds a sense of community, and creates a more inclusive, connected Bermondsey. Our impact is seen in the increased wellbeing of our members, stronger community ties, and the creation of opportunities for marginalized groups to engage in healthy, supportive activities.
