Objectives

TBCC aims to provide affordable counselling for adults, children and young people in East Hampshire, Havant and North Portsmouth areas, who have been bereaved. Our counsellors are either fully qualified or in training; they offer their time to see bereaved people in their own homes or at suitable venues in the community. We offer a safe, confidential space where clients will not be judged. We work within an ethos of choice, person centeredness, acceptance, and confidentiality. TBCC is governed by a board of trustees who oversee the work of a volunteer management committee.  TBCC offers counselling to approximately 70 bereaved clients every year. Our counsellors enable people to come to terms with the emotional and practical changes that happen when a loved one dies, helping them to cope with intense feelings of loss, guilt, sadness, and anger.  Our work helps to promote emotional well-being and understanding of the bereavement process.
