Our Mission is to provide outstanding fire and rescue services that help make Bedfordshire safer.
Our beneficiaries include residents, businesses and people working in or visiting Bedfordshire.
In addition to providing emergency responses, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) delivers free prevention and protection advice and support to help keep people, environments and property safe – and we need more volunteers throughout Bedfordshire to help.
Prevention and protection advice and support helping keep people, environments and property safe include home safety assessments; advice and help for vulnerable people struggling with rising fuel and utility bills; advice and installation of child safety equipment such as stair gates; support with applications for financial help to grant making bodies; signposting to sources of further help.
Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do and as a BFRS volunteer you’ll be part of a great team making a difference to your local community. We are especially keen to recruit volunteers who can engage with hard to reach and excluded communities. All our volunteers receive a tailored induction and ongoing support from Volunteer Manager and colleagues.
Whether you want to be out and about meeting people or prefer to stay inside and use your IT know-how, we have volunteering opportunities to suit varying skills, experience and availabilities.
