Objectives

Beat the Cold is an independent charity founded some 25 years ago to deal with the issues of affordable warmth and fuel poverty. The agency works across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, and immediately neighbouring areas to help and support vulnerable and low income households.

Activities

Skilled and caring advisers work personally with clients in their own homes.
Operates a dedicated telephone advice line and single point of contact. All the Infopoint telephone facilities at the Royal Stoke University Hospital have a direct connection to Beat the Cold.
Training - Beat the Cold is an Accredited Continuing Professional Development provider.
Has extensive knowledge of grants and other assistance available to clients.
Provides effective signposting with follow up.
Has extensive and long established relationships with many organisations including Councils, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Health and Wellbeing Boards.
Has won awards - eg Energy Impact Awards 2016 for the Saving Lives with Solar Project.
