The Barbara Bus Fund is a well established charity that provides transport for disabled people who are wheelchair users and are not able to access regular forms of transport.

The Barbara Bus Fund has a fleet of adapted vehicles which can transport 1,2 or 3 wheelchair users and several able bodied passengers in comfort. Local trips may use a volunteer driver, or any of the vehicles can be borrowed by families, carers or small groups on a self drive basis, subject to the usual driver checks. There is no set charge for the use of the vehicles, we simply ask for the cost of fuel to be covered and a donation made to the charity where possible. A small mileage charge is made if using a volunteer driver.

The charity is based in Stanmore at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and in addition to the fleet of vehicles based there, there is a vehicle at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Bucks, one at Pinderfields Hospital in Yorkshire and three vehicles in North Wales

There are now plans to expand the service we offer and we are currently looking at locations throughout the South East of England.
