Objectives

Baluji Music Foundation promotes the understanding and enjoyment of music and performing arts from the Indian Sub-Continent in all its traditional and evolving forms. Our motto is “sharing the joy of music” which we promote through performances, workshops, collaborations, research and exciting projects. We are an inclusive organisation and encourage participation with people from different cultural perspectives, and we especially welcome people who are differently abled.

Activities

We established the Inner Vision Orchestra of blind and visually impaired musicians who perform professionally. Inner Vision music workshops run by VI musicians for VI people of all abilities overcoming loneliness, depression and developing confidence. Established in 2008 by Indian musician Baluji Shrivastav, OBE together with musician and writer Linda Shanson to consolidate and extend the scope of their work. The organisation is based in London and our work is both national and international. We also conduct research and produce small to medium scale concerts in many different styles of music. We create and promote employment opportunities for blind and visually impaired people in the music industry and promote awareness of their contribution to society.
