AVIBC serves the local community and surrounding areas to provide a sport that encompasses all levels of skill and physical ability in a safe environment. The clubhouse provides a social environment which is informal for groups to socialise. Although the club is open to all ages it is predominently older people and the venue is particularly suitable for older people who live alone to attend and participate in group activities thus reducing social isolation. Indoor bowls can provide a winter social opportunity when outdoor bowls is out of season but is also less powerful for those with reduced muscular ability. There are families who enjoy bowls together and the younger element brings a welcome intergenerational element and a sense of real community when older and younger people enjoy the sport together.
There are a number of internal competitions and external ones across the area as well as social events. Regular galas provide opportunities for all members to be incorporated into teams. Coaching is provided to introduce new bowlers to the sport. The clubhouse is situated within Jaguar Land Rover car park making access difficult and confusing. A new road has been approved by planning for a discreet entrance and car park. This along with the clubhouse refurbishment is designed to re launch and reinvigorate the club to attract a wider cohort of members and secure the future of the club
The club has a Board of Directors who bring their expertise to the club and works with Bowls England to promote the sport. It is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Association (CASA).
