Autistic Girls Network help autistic girls and women and their families by providing them with support and campaigning for earlier diagnosis. Girls are, in general, diagnosed much later than boys and masking autistic traits can cause serious mental health problems. The earlier we can recognise girls as autistic, the more support we can give them to build their self-esteem and autistic identity.
We are a very new organisation only just starting our fundraising journey, so currently we mainly support through our 8000+ strong Facebook group and our links with autism researchers at universities but with funding we aim to establish groups for autistic girls to help build self-esteem and allow them to meet others who experience the world in the same way they do.
