Augusta Park Community Association is a charity set up to run the local community centre. The centre is a modern and spacious centre that is used for a variety of groups who provide activities for the local community such as sports, exercise, mother and toddler, health clinics ect. It is also available for one off hire for parties and events. The Community Association, volunteers and two paid staff assist with the running of the centre on a day to day basis and look to put on seasonal activities for local families e.g. Easter Egg Hunt, Teddy Bears picnics, Family Fun days.
Augusta Park is a large and relatively new housing development and the role of the Community Centre is to provide a central hub where residents can socialise, interact with others, make friends and gain valuable support.
The Trustee board are responsible for ensuring that the centre is run in line with legal and regulatory frameworks and it's governing document. The Trustees ensure fiduciary compliance and determine the overall direction and development of the charity. They work in common with statutory authorities, voluntary and other organisations to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure with the object of improving the condition of life for residents.
