Objectives

Asylum Welcome helps people fleeing persecution and danger in their own countries who seek refuge in Oxford.

Asylum Welcome staff and volunteers provide information, advice and support to asylum seekers; visit and support the rights and welfare of detainees; run a service for young people, educational support, a food bank, and help with other everyday needs.

Asylum Welcome's help reduces poverty, suffering and social isolation among asylum seekers, enabling them to live with the respect and dignity.

Activities

Asylum Welcome volunteers run a Welcome Centre - offering advice, computer access, food bank, and lunch club.

Staff and volunteers visit, advise and help detainees in Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre, and support them in their rights and legal processes.

The Venda youth club for unaccompanied young asylum seekers is the basis for the youth workers support to individuals.
