The Association of Carers support unpaid Carers in East Sussex to help them to continue in their caring role by providing free, volunteer-led serv ices that encourage independence and reduce isolation.
A Carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends, who could not manage without this help.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and give their time for free. They are rewarded by seeing the difference they make to people's lives.
Befriending with Respite - This service gives the Carers the opportunity to have some time to themselves, usually 3 hours each week. The volunteer will come to the Carer's home and sit with the cared for person, giving the Carer the chance to go out and have some free time.
Carers Wellbeing - This service gives Carers the opportunity to discuss their caring role in confidence over the telephone with one of our trained volunteers. A regular telephone call is provided for 6 months.
Computer Help at Home - This service helps Carers learn how to use their computer in their own home. The volunteers will provide support once a week for 6 weeks.
