About Assembly
Assembly is a new social enterprise on a mission to make Sustainable Fashion circular and inclusive. Our global community is united by the drive to harness the apparel industry for good. Together, we aim to deliver an intersectional Framework for sustainable fashion.
Our framework will ensure that as the sustainable fashion market grows, it protects the planet and people equally.
The goal?
Our goal is to build an equitable, diverse and participatory experience for all stakeholders from farmer to consumer across regions, race and gender.
We plan to use our intersectional framework to build a digital resource platform exclusively for the stakeholders invested in the future of fashion. Our Blockchain-powered platform will welcome anyone interested to participate and benefit from the growth of the industry from like-minded businesses to individuals.
Our vision is a new apparel sector where people from diverse backgrounds are culturally and socially accepted and treated equally. Their differences are allowed to thrive in a safe, positive, and nurturing space. Together, they’ll power a new fashion economy that promotes prosperity and supports UN SDGs.
Why do we need to be inclusive?
Today’s fashion industry has a serious inclusivity problem. Unfair power dynamics have long kept the majority of fashion stakeholders from participating in sustainable fashion.
Marginalised communities are barred from the table, and it affects everyone. Because if we are to make the switch from fast fashion, we’re going to need our forces united.
That’s why we’re harnessing sustainable fashion as a force for social justice. We don't just want social justice to be an optional add-on to environmentalism, we want it embedded in its DNA.
In a world upended by Covid-19 and facing climate catastrophe, the need to go sustainable is more urgent than ever. We need a global effort to power the change, and that means a place for everyone.
We invite you to join our community.
Become a citizen of the future and help to achieve positive change right now.
We are seeking passionate individuals to take action to address the negative impact of the fashion industry such as extreme poverty, modern slavery, natural resource depletion and environmental degradation.
