Ashtead Good Neighbours helps local residents who need a helping hand - be it for transport to a medical appointment, a little shopping or simple DIY. Our large team of 140 volunteers typically take clients to GP, dental or hospital appointments helping them get in the volunteer's car and accompanying them to the appointment. This gives much needed help to elderly and less mobile clients giving them reassuring support as necessary.
Appraises new and prospective clients to ensure we can provide a safe service.
Finds volunteers for driving, shopping and DIY jobs, carrying out appropriate checks including DBS.
Takes calls from clients requesting assistance and finds an appropriate volunteer to help.
Keeps abreast of regulatory and health advice to ensure we provide a safe service, complying with appropriate regulations, including data protection.
