We work to improve the quality of life of people in and around the Ashanti Region of Ghana. We were originally asked to help by Ashantis living in London who worried about the condition of people in their home villages. These had been cocoa farmers, but could no longer grow cocoa commercially because of climate change. Hunger and sickness were widespread.
At first we did no more than provide clean water, sanitation, and training in health and hygiene to small farming communities and over the last twenty yeards have done this for 50,000 people in over seventy villages. Today we also work in healthcare, education and income generation, particularly by training farmers to grow crops other than cocoa.
