Objectives

The Arukah Project CIC is a not-for-profit community interest company that aims to raise awareness of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and trauma and how it impacts the lives of those who are in contact with the Justice System.

We have developed an emotional health and safety framework that includes education, sharing experience and practical learning of emotional freedom techniques (EFT).  These highly effective self-help evidence-based tools act rapidly on the nervous system to support emotional regulation and we combine this the integration of trauma-informed practice.

The Arukah Project CIC works with people who have experience of:

  • Justice system e.g., currently in prison or on probation
  • Care or Care leavers
  • Addiction (alcohol and substance misuse)
  • Homelessness and rough sleeping

Activities

We work collaboratively with organisations supporting their service users and staff.  We offer the following activities:

  • group workshops for up to 12 people split over 3 days at 2.5 hours per day
  • train-the-trainer group workshops of up to 10 per group to support organisations with ongoing sustainability
  • Compassion fatigue programs for staff only
  • dedicated 1-to-1 interventions with our experienced and qualified therapy team - clinical EFT
  • The Arukah Community - online community to support families of loved ones caught in the JS
  • online or F2F support via ’tapping circles’

The techniques that we use have a great scientific evidence base. We have listed some of the research on our website.
