Objectives

Started in 1979 by the first chairman, Elizabeth Smith, our name, Rother Valley, reflects that our members come from a wide area, from Rye to Pevensey and all the surrounding neighbourhoods, including Battle, Bexhill and Robertsbridge, with Hastings as the centre.

We are an independent charity, (charity number 280287) affiliated to the Arts Society, the operating name of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS). The Arts Society  is a leading arts education charity with a global network of local societies which bring people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.

Activities

Rother Valley's members enjoy 9 outstanding, illustrated monthly talks a year, given by distinguished experts in their field. Talks are held in a spacious, accessible venue with excellent visual and sound qualities.  Members are offered local visits plus the additional benefit of an Arts magazine 3 times a year, monthly emailed curated highlights about the Arts, including events and exhibitions, and information about tours and holidays.
