OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide strategic direction for arts development in Derbyshire, building on the unique creative, cultural, natural and heritage assets of our county.

We seek to build an organisation that strengthens Derbyshire’s culture through the help of its arts community.
We want to establish an open space for creative people and cultural communities to bring forward their innovative and diverse forms of expression.

4. We are Creative:
We seek new and imaginative solutions to arts development.

5. We are Responsive:
We listen to the needs of our communities, are flexible, agile and relevant.

Activities

Arts Derbyshire provides it members - individual artists and creatives and cultural organisations / venues - with news, resources and advice, an online profile page, access to events listings, workshops and networking opportunities.

Arts Derbyshire also operates through the following areas:

Festivity providing Festivals Development and support.

Arts and Health Arts Derbyshire has been working to develop the field of Arts & Health in Derbyshire since it's original inception in 2008. This work has several strands, including a network, strategic advocacy and development work, management of specific projects and information dissemination. Projects include Matinee, Necklace of Stars, DDance, Sing Viva Carers’ Choirs and Social Prescribing (supported by Public Health Derbyshire).

Arts Derbyshire's ambition is to support everyone in the community including artists and creatives. Through the Arts & Health projects above, we have worked with people living with dementia; those aged 55+; those who are housebound or shielding; carers; social prescribing clients; third sector companies looking for clinical supervision and support.

Regular newsletters are also sent to members with the specific remits of: Arts Derbyshire (general news), Festivity, Arts & Health, Writers, Film and Dance.
