Objectives

Article 1 is a human rights charity whose aims are:

To help asylum seekers from Darfur and other parts of Sudan to navigate the UK’s complex immigration process
To collaborate with the British government and relevant organisations to improve the UK’s policy and procedure for Sudanese asylum seekers
To inform decision-makers and the public about the human rights situation in Sudan
To raise awareness of Darfur and Sudan amongst the public

Our sister organisation Waging Peace is a human rights organisation which campaigns against genocide and systematic human rights violations in Sudan.

Activities

Article 1, alongside our sister organisation Waging Peace, support Sudanese asylum seekers in the UK. Our experienced team produces regular in-depth research reports which enable us to support the call for urgent, effective and measurable action from the UK government and the international community. We work closely with decision-makers and the public to raise awareness of the human rights situation in Sudan.
