The Museum aims to be an entertaining, engaging, inspiring and viable museum, telling the story of British Army Flying, that is admired for first class conservation, interpretation, access, learning and research, all supported by a highly motivated team. Our beneficiaries are Army Aviators, past and present, our local and international visitors and those seeking information on a capability that has played a key role in UK military history for over 130 years. Our outreach programme seeks to spread this knowledge across Hampshire and neighbouring counties, with a special focus on education and learning. Our aim is to inspire the next generation and ensure that the legacy of innovation, courage, skill and sacrifice is preserved for years to come.
The Museum is currently in the final throes of a £2.5M National Lottery Funded redevelopment project which will reinvigorate the collection and displays. We will re-open on 1 April 2019 and seek to expand our visitor numbers, increase our events programme, expand our outreach programme and welcome new volunteers.
