To promote and support public behaviour engendering the conservation of the environment in general by advancing the education of the public in subjects related to sustainable development and the protection of the environment. Sustainable development means “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. This is for the public benefit
The organisation will provide environmental conservation education to the public by providing structured resources that have been researched, released or accepted by the scientific community.
It will do this in two ways:
1. Through personal engagement;
- In the form of lectures, speeches, initiatives, events and interactive courses organised with schools, community groups and other organisations
- In physical locations where the public are likely to visit and be interested to learn more. The first location has been established in Penrith, Cumbria, alongside a new zero-waste shop where the public bring their own containers to fill with dry food goods or liquids.
2. Through social media platforms;
- Structured resources will be made available through the internet to broaden the reach of the charity.
The education of the public is directed towards how they themselves can make changes to aid conservation of the environment by, for example;
- reducing their use of single-use packaging
- reducing their own food waste
- reducing their own food miles
- following the mantra of refuse, reduce, re-use, repurpose and recycle
