AWOL was set up to help the animals on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor, Egypt - a mainly impoverished rural agricultural area outside the main tourist area of Luxor. AWOL provides free veterinary care for the animals from its small veterinary centre and is the only animal charity based on the west bank. AWOL also operates a mobile clinic on a regular basis.
AWOL UK works with AWOL Luxor to provide free veterinary care for the animals in the poor rural communities on the west bank of Luxor. In addition to free treatment by a qualified vet AWOL also makes replacement soft tack and dog collars for the local animals.
