Amaudo UK aims to improve the services available to those with mental health problems in SE Nigeria through its partnership with Amaudo Nigeria. It does this through improving skills and knowledge of the workers in our partner organisation, through increasing capacity by accessing and utilising expertise, funding and resources from the UK and through increasing awareness of the work of Amaudo. The work of AUK ensures a better quality of life for hundreds of people with mental health problems in SE Nigeria and beyond.
AUK works to improve the skills of workers through training and the production of training materials - these are used for workers within the organisation as well as further afield, e.g. village health workers. Amaudo UK works to provide funds where extra-ordinary needs are identified, by applying for grants on Amaudo's behalf, through community fundraising and through supporting the applications made by Amaudo Nigeria. AUK aims to increase awareness of its work through the use of its website, social media and networking with those involved in mental health on a local, national and international level.
