Dementia Buddies spend time on the wards at Medway Maritime Hospital with patients who have dementia. Buddies make a big difference to the experience of hospital.
Activities
Spend time with patients, playing cards, reading or other suitable bedside activities
Help to prepare patients at mealtime by assisting with hand hygiene, setting the table with cutlery and pouring the patient a drink
Feed appropriate patients as identified by the staff nurse as being suitable
Assist with combing hair
Visit the hospital shop to get items the patients wish to purchase
