Alumah CIO empowers and supports people of all genders in West Suffolk whose lives have been impacted by domestic abuse. Alumah’s skilled and friendly team offers specialist groups, counselling and practical individual support to adults, teens and children recovering from the impact of domestic abuse. In 2022-2023 our specialist programme for the LGBTQ+ community grew and we started a new programme for children aged 7 - 11 years. We supported 154 individuals of whom 11 were children, 45 were young people and 98 adults.
We offer practical support and we help people to learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. We do this by running specialist groups around West Suffolk and online aimed at women, men, LGBTQ+ community, young people and children impacted by domestic violence. Our groups build self esteem and empower people to start to rebuild their lives. We also offer specialist 1-1 counselling.
