Alive and Kicking (AK) exist to create happier, healthier, more empowered communities. We achieve this by producing a sports ball like no other - creating access to jobs, play and vital health education. In other words, we Make. Play. Live.
Make. Through the production of high-quality sports balls, we create ethical employment for adults from vulnerable job groups and drive self-sustaining communities. Since opening our doors we have produced 1,020,120 sports balls, created 1,099 ethical jobs and contributed over £5.3 million to the local economy.
Play. Through our community partnerships we give young people facing disadvantage regular access to sport, play and exercise. Over the last seventeen years we have given 8,561,250 children across 87 countries free access to play.
Live. Through our sport based award-winning health education programmes, we give young people facing disadvantage ongoing access to health education and services, delivered directly through sport. By training 1,405 youth educators to deliver programmes in their own communities, we have reached 103,762 young people.
Alive and Kicking ensure that a sports ball makes a positive impact throughout its lifetime.
Through ball production, we create ethical jobs for adults from vulnerable job groups. Roles include production, design, human resources, finance and management. This enables AK employees to support themselves and their families, increasing their access to goods and services such as education, health and safe housing.
Utilising partnerships and the profit from ball sales, AK is able to give young people access to sport and health education by donating AK balls across communities globally and training youth leaders to deliver ongoing health education as part of their own lessons, sessions and activities.
