Objectives

Based in the heart of Deptford, the Albany is a performing arts centre with a history stretching back to the nineteenth century. Over the last few years, we have emerged as a new type of arts venue, very much driven by the cultural diversity and creative mix of South East London. Involving people, through participation and partnerships, is central to our work and is essential to the delivery of our vision.

Activities

During the last year over 180,000 people visited the Albany and used our facilities, including audiences of over 40,000 for more than 400 events. The Albany has four performance spaces, including its unique central performance space, with a capacity of 300 seated and 500 for standing events. Our programme encompasses a range of music, theatre and spoken word, as well as an array of participatory projects. Our other facilities include a café bar, rehearsal and meeting rooms for hire, and office space.
